Sushi Nishizaki is nestled quietly in a residential area of Tohoku-zawa. I had been eager to satisfy my sushi cravings and was grateful to finally visit. The clean counter offered a calm atmosphere, combining pleasant conversation with comfort.I enjoyed various dishes, including appetizers, sashimi, grilled eel, and vinegared dishes. Each ingredient was approached with care to enhance its flavor, resulting in delicious offerings. These were perfectly paired with a selection of fine Japanese sake. The standout for me was the "ankimo" (monkfish liver). Its jiggly texture, combined with a sweet, chestnut-like richness, clearly set it apart from the usual offerings found elsewhere. As the sushi course began, I realized that there was even more to enjoy after relishing the appetizers. The sushi rice melted in my mouth as soon as I took a bite, harmonizing beautifully with the toppings. The vinegar was adjusted to complement each ingredient, and the meticulous techniques applied to the toppings created a unique taste and texture that distinguished it from other places. It’s true what they say: the devil is in the details. The extra care taken here truly elevates the sushi to a higher level.I found myself captivated by the way the sushi was presented, and I would love to return if given the chance. It was a great meal.
