I recently visited Kurogi with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. During our last visit, I had mentioned in advance that we were celebrating, and they surprised us with a magnificent cake, which truly touched us.Kurogi offers a wide array of seasonal delicacies, making it hard to pinpoint just one highlight. In May, we enjoyed various seasonal ingredients such as shellfish, sweetfish, squid, and items related to Children's Day (I even took home some irises, haha!). Of course, we also indulged in both shabu-shabu and sukiyaki styles of beef, along with their signature somen noodles and soft-shelled turtle, among other dishes. The flavors were consistently powerful and satisfying.When our child mentioned their love for beef, Chef Kuroki kindly prepared a generous portion of the meat's edge, seasoned for sukiyaki, as a takeaway. We received quite a bit, but our child devoured it in no time, leaving us all laughing!
