I visited on a Saturday. This restaurant is located about a 10-minute drive from Odawara Station in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is recognized as a 2026 SILVER establishment on Tabelog and is one of the top 100 restaurants. Previously, it earned one Michelin star. The reservation system here is a bit complex, but it is primarily reservation-based. A while ago, my companion called and managed to secure a reservation. On the day of the visit, arriving after 9 AM determines your dining time. So, we arrived around 9:20 AM. The parking lot in front of the restaurant accommodates about 10 cars, but it was full with others arriving for their scheduled times. But don’t worry! There is a second parking lot across the road. There’s a pedestrian bridge, and while traffic is heavy, it’s safe to cross. As responsible adults, we shouldn’t park without permission at the nearby Lawson! This time, we were told we could start eating at 9:50 AM (that’s early!). There’s also a museum for Kamaboko (fish cake) nearby, so we killed some time there. When it was almost time, we headed back to the restaurant. The interior is spacious, which is hard to imagine from the outside. We were seated in a tatami room on the second floor. The staff provided attentive service. First, we were served grilled eel liver. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of liver, but I could eat this one. After a while, the unaju (grilled eel over rice) arrived. It came as a set with eel, liver soup, and pickles. The eel was fluffy and truly delicious in the Kanto style! It was easy to enjoy without any stress. Today’s eel was from Lake Hamana. Domestic eel is indeed tasty! Getting to this point took a lot of preparation, but I’m glad I made it to this wonderful restaurant!
