A popular restaurant awarded the Tabelog Bronze! I made a reservation about five days ago through a website called Ikkyu. Most of the slots were already booked, but I found an opening on a weekday at noon, so I decided to reserve it. This renowned eel restaurant is located near Matsumoto Castle, about a 25-minute walk from Matsumoto Station.The atmosphere inside the restaurant features dim lighting, complemented by a glossy wooden counter and tables. The distance between the counter and tables provides a sense of openness, creating a relaxing space.【Order Details】 ◾️ Unaju (Grilled Eel Rice Box) It came with two pieces of eel, which were thick and had a nice bounce. The more you chew, the more the flavor of the eel comes through. It was served with a sauce made from Okubo Brewery's soy sauce, which was rich yet not overly sweet. The sauce complemented the eel without overpowering its natural flavors. The eel was grilled using electric heat, resulting in a crispy exterior and a moist, tender interior. This method of grilling is what gives it that delightful texture. ◾️ Eel Liver This dish used the liver part of the eel. The surface was crispy, with a roasted flavor, while the inside was soft and plump. The liver had a slight bitterness.
