Nestled in the quiet villa area of Atami and Ajiro, the auberge "Mui Shizen - ATAMI" houses the French restaurant "LAT.34°N by Ao." I had been looking forward to this visit, as it is part of the lineage of the renowned restaurant "Ao" in Nishiazabu.From the large window at my table, I was greeted by the beautiful sea at "Latitude 34°N," just as the restaurant's name suggests. The stunning gradient of the Sagami Bay transitioning from dusk to night provided the perfect backdrop.As for the dishes and pairings, the creative French cuisine features local fish from Suruga Bay and Sagami Bay, along with a variety of rich ingredients from Shizuoka. The meticulous pairing of wines by the sommelier (with occasional Japanese sake) was truly impressive, delivering a wave of delight with every bite.
