I finally managed to make a reservation at the much-anticipated Kitanozaka Kinoshita, even though I was alone. The Pencil Building was easy to find. Upon arrival, I felt a bit cramped with nine people, but everyone else was a couple, which made it feel lonely. However, once seated, I found there was actually plenty of space. The appetizers were a fantastic start, featuring caviar on toasted bread, sweet corn, surf clam, and red sea urchin. The nut soup with eggplant and the hairy crab were incredibly delicious. The zuppa di pesce and abalone in the water plant soup were outstanding. For pasta, I had the squid ink pasta with white squid, turban shell, and tomato! The Chateaubriand was exquisite, and the final dish, the Akashi octopus and bean risotto, was superb. The cheesecake was also top-notch. For dessert, I enjoyed an ice cream made with pineapple soup—absolutely perfect, showcasing excellent hospitality. I definitely want to come back. It was a great meal!
