Located between Yotsuya and Yotsuya-sanchome, I visited Kitajima Tei on a weekday evening.As mentioned, they offer a 3-course and a 4-course option, and since the price difference is only about JPY 1000, I, being a bit frugal, opted for the 4-course meal.Even though it’s a 4-course meal, there are appetizers and soup served beforehand, which made me wonder if I could finish everything. You can choose from various options for the appetizer.The ingredients are high quality and the dishes are delicious, but what stands out is the portion size. For example, the white asparagus—while most restaurants serve just one piece, here they serve two as a matter of course. The portions for both fish and meat are generous (imagine double the amount you’d get at a typical restaurant), and I had to request a smaller dessert to finish everything.This long-established restaurant may have a concept that is rare in today’s dining scene. As a Tabelog Bronze-rated establishment, it certainly has its unique charm.It was a great meal!
