I visited Belle Equipe, a Tabelog Award BRONZE winner, located about a 6-minute drive from Mizunami Station. This French restaurant has been operating in the area for many years and is quite popular, as evidenced by its selection for the Tabelog Award BRONZE. From what I saw on Instagram, the chef's dedication to his dishes was evident, and I was very much looking forward to my visit.I made a reservation by phone and opted for the lunch course priced at JPY 7,700.Every dish was outstanding, but I was particularly impressed by the roasted lamb and the delicate corn soup! The roasted lamb was served in a unique style where you hold the bone with a paper napkin and eat it directly. The moment I bit into it, the meat was tender and juicy, with no gamey taste, just a subtle aroma that enhanced the rich flavor of the meat. The seasoning on the outside was just salt, allowing the natural taste of the lamb to shine through. This was among the best roasted lamb I’ve ever had—possibly even the number one!The corn soup, made without butter or broth, was seasoned only with a touch of salt, allowing the gentle sweetness, richness, and aroma of the corn to come through beautifully. I couldn’t stop drinking it. It’s easy to see why this is one of Belle Equipe’s signature dishes. The chef personally introduced each dish, and the service was impeccable. I left feeling very satisfied, having enjoyed a generous number of dishes for the price.Next time, I’d love to try some of their other specialty dishes, especially the duck dishes.
