Located just a 5-minute walk from Fushimi Station, I visited Amaki at the Nagoya Kanko Hotel on the 18th floor, at 1-19-30 Nishiki, Naka Ward, Nagoya City. This was my first visit since they relocated and reopened on May 9, 2024, from Marunouchi to the 18th floor of the Nagoya Kanko Hotel. The beautiful white wooden counter and spacious atmosphere, combined with the hotel setting, elevate the restaurant's ambiance to a higher level. The culinary direction remains unchanged, featuring an impressive selection of fish primarily sourced from Mikawa Bay and Ise Bay. Amaki showcases its signature aged sushi and exceptional side dishes that truly highlight the fish's potential. The thoughtfully curated selection of local Tokai fish is appealing, especially for those who enjoy drinking. With a total of 30 dishes combining appetizers and sushi, the volume is satisfying and filling! I often wonder how much this would cost at a sushi restaurant in Tokyo. Haha.I am very pleased with the reasonable prices. As expected from a representative sushi restaurant in Nagoya. It was a great meal.Total bill: JPY 35,000 per person【Omakase Course: JPY 33,000, tax included】- Homemade Tokoroten, crab, and okra puree- Thinly sliced Magochi from Ise Bay- Marinated bonito, freshly grated bonito flakes, yellow chives with dipping sauce, and wasabi- White sweet sea bream and long eggplant soup- Steamed abalone- Liver sauce risotto- Tender octopus stew- Spring sea bream- Swordtip squid- Sea urchin- Grilled asari clams- Milk clam- Shinko (young fish)- Kiss (fish) with kombu- Marinated red fish- Chutoro (medium fatty tuna)- Otoro (fatty tuna)- Kuruma shrimp- Grilled Managatsuo- Clams- Horse mackerel- Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch)- Biwa trout- Sesame mackerel- Vinegared rice crackers (seaweed and shirasu flavor)- Anago (conger eel)- Miso soup- Toro-taku roll- Gourd roll- Tamago (egg)
