I made a reservation for the early lunch shift on a weekday and entered the restaurant. There was another group at both the counter and a table. First, we were shown the eels that would be prepared today, and they looked stunning with a beautiful sheen. Then came the grilling. Watching the grilling process live from the counter was a rare experience. The pickles served in the meantime were also delicious! After steaming, we started with the grilled eel. It was incredibly tasty! The accompanying wasabi, true to Shizuoka's reputation, was so good that I could have enjoyed it with just sake. Then came the main dish, the eel rice bowl. The satisfaction it brought was beyond words, filling my mouth with joy. The chef's hospitality and conversation conveyed his dedication to his work, enhancing my appreciation for the dishes even more. The rice was also carefully selected and delicious! It was a perfect moment with nothing to complain about.
