I decided to visit HATSUNEZUSHI, which has been recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants from 2021-2022 and 2025, and has received a Bronze award from 2022-2026. Unusually for me, I made a reservation online in advance since I’m not a fan of courses. I believe I had the 5th generation Omakase course for JPY 8,800.The course included a variety of sushi such as lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, seared tuna, kohada, spring sea bream, akagai (red clam), sagoshi (young Spanish mackerel), snow crab, sardine, sea urchin, eggplant, bonito, and dried gourd rolls, along with some vinegared mozuku seaweed, fish soup, and a dessert made with fava beans. The tuna sushi was delicious, and the rice melted in my mouth, with a pleasantly strong vinegar flavor. Many of the ingredients had been carefully aged or marinated, but I found myself craving a bit more of the refreshing light fish. I might have enjoyed it more with some soy sauce. Overall, I was quite satisfied—thank you for the meal! The restaurant is located on the first floor of a building, about a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. I dined at the "Yama" room, which features an L-shaped counter with 8 seats, creating a lovely atmosphere. The dessert (which felt a bit unnecessary for me) was served in the "Umi" room, adding to the experience. The entire dining experience was filled with entertainment, and although I’m not used to the slower pace of the sushi service, the reasonable pricing makes it a great option for events. The restaurant is completely non-smoking.After some research, I found out that it was established in 1983 (Meiji 26). I wonder if it originally started in Omori? After starting the current location in 1997, it received two Michelin stars in the Tokyo Michelin Guide 2009. I wonder if young chefs are currently at the helm. At the time, it had a Tabelog rating of 4.24 (Google Maps 4.4). Please forgive any inaccuracies in my account.
