I finally made it to Sushi Sakai. My favorite high-end sushi place until now has been Kiku Sushi in Fukuoka. However, I actually prefer Sakai over Kiku! Thanks to a gourmet friend’s recommendation, my expectations were high! Writing a review about sushi is challenging, but I truly experienced summer through my senses during those two hours, even without going to the sea or a festival. The ingredients, textures, and seasonal dishes made the meal incredibly enjoyable. Moreover, it felt like almost all the staff were sommeliers, as they had extensive knowledge about alcohol, and the variety of Japanese sake seemed endless, surpassing even the sea! I know it’s a cliché, but I definitely want to go back.
