My first visit to Kyoei Tateishi Station. As soon as you exit the station, you’ll find the bustling Tateishi Nakamise shopping street. While the back part is a shuttered area, the entrance is lively.Suzuya Shokuhin has been a long-established shop since the post-war era.The smell of grilled meat is definitely present here.I bought some pickles from this shop.Well, the shops next door might have been a bit pungent.I apologize for that. After enjoying some tea at Funawa, I headed here.Yakiniku Kosen, where the handsome chef, Anryu Hide, who was born and raised in Katsushika Ward, stands at the counter. He’s a true grandma’s boy. This is a downtown yakiniku restaurant where food enthusiasts come by Shinkansen (bullet train). On this day, we had a private reservation at the counter. The grill master was a super regular food connoisseur. He’s incredibly professional.I left the ordering to the regulars. The sauces include soy sauce-based, spicy miso, salt sauce, plum sauce, salt and pepper, and garlic soy sauce. Each is finely adjusted, creating a perfect synergy with the meat.Even with my small stomach, I ordered the chick rice. After all, rice is essential with downtown yakiniku. The smoke from grilling and the sauce makes you crave rice. For the finale, the super regular made bibimbap.Even when I was full, I finished it all. After we all boarded the train, I realized I had to take the opposite train and go back via Nippori. Oh no. I didn’t want to go back.I ended up going to Asakusa and returning via Ueno.It took twice as long. And when I got back to my hometown, it was raining...There’s no restroom here, so I used the one in the shopping street. It’s been a while since I used a traditional one.Due to redevelopment, they haven’t taken reservations for the year after next, and they’re fully booked until next year. They said they’re not taking any more reservations. This shop has been passed down from grandmother to grandchild. It’s sad to see the shopping street disappear.Thank you for inviting me to this precious seat.- Fresh Omasum Sashimi- Lightly Pickled Kimchi- Black Wagyu Beef Tongue- Tongue- Outside Skirt (Salt)- Black Wagyu Hanging Tender- Premium Outside Skirt (Sauce)- Premium Loin (Sauce)- Spencer Roll- Liver- Cubed Lean Meat- Loin (One Side Grilled)- Colon- Gyu-Kara- Mountain Chain Tripe- Rib Gata- Tongue Tip- Egg Soup- Chick Rice- Mix liver and garlic chives on the teppan with rice for Korean-style fried rice【Drinks】Lemon Sour - a sour drink to start and finishPlum Sour - crushed plum for a perfect balanceOolong Tea - a unique Oolong tea from downtown.
