Sakishuu's Foodie! 2026 GW Tokyo Edition!This is one of the highest-rated soba restaurants in Tokyo, located about a 10-minute walk from Higashi-Nagasaki Station. Nestled in a residential area facing the road, it operates on a first-come, first-served basis for lunch and requires reservations for dinner. There are two waiting chairs and a parasol outside.The exterior has a chic and modern Japanese aesthetic. Starting from before 11 AM during Golden Week, the number of people waiting began to increase, and by opening time, there were over 20 people in line.Once inside, the seating area is at the back of the corridor, featuring a stunning wooden counter. There are three counter seats and three table seats, creating a charming atmosphere. It seems that groups of four or more cannot be accommodated at once.The owners, a husband and wife team, provide warm and friendly service.I ordered two servings of seiro soba and inaka soba.First, the dipping sauce, extra sauce, and condiments including wasabi, spicy grated daikon, and green onions arrived, followed by the seiro soba. I was recommended to use wasabi, and the soba had a strong, firm texture with a rich flavor.The shared dipping sauce for both the seiro and inaka soba has a hint of sweetness but is quite rich in dashi flavor, making it deeply flavorful with just a light dip.Next, the inaka soba appeared, which looked darker and thinner than the seiro. Here, the recommended condiments were coarse salt and spicy grated daikon. Upon tasting, the soba had a strong flavor, and the dipping sauce was also rich, creating a direct competition between the soba and the sauce. The texture was firm, showcasing the high level of skill involved.I had two servings this time, but one serving felt a bit small, so I think it’s best enjoyed with some appetizers.I finished off with the smooth soba-yu (soba water).The atmosphere is welcoming and easy to enter, and the service from the couple was very pleasant. It was a wonderful soba restaurant.That’s why I can’t give up on Tokyo!It was incredibly delicious.It was a great meal!
