On this day, I visited Riba Tei, a long-established yakitori restaurant located in Yokohama's Kannai area. It's about a 5-minute walk from Kannai Station. I learned that many yakitori restaurants have branched out from here, which speaks to its long-standing history and popularity. They also have a great selection of wines, so I ordered a bottle of Cava. From here, we enjoyed various yakitori and side dishes.■ Heart There was no unpleasant odor at all, and the flavor of the chicken expanded with each bite.■ Chicken Wings The outside was crispy and fragrant, while the inside was packed with rich meat flavor.■ Skin The large pieces of skin were crispy yet juicy. The deep flavor of the skin combined with the grilled aroma was impressive.■ Beef Tongue, Ishikawa Yam, and Green Beans The tender beef tongue was rich in flavor, while the Ishikawa yam had a sticky texture similar to taro. The contrast with the crunchy green beans added to the enjoyment.■ Chicken Breast It was cooked a bit more thoroughly, resulting in a slight dryness. Personally, I prefer it cooked a little less.■ Fruit Tomato, Grilled Corn, and Zunda The refreshing taste of the tomato paired well with the sweetness and aroma of the corn. It was a light dish that evoked a sense of summer.■ Chicken Breast, Miyuki Eggplant, and Jelly The chicken breast was moist and tender. This dish, combining Miyuki eggplant and jelly, was a delightful interlude between grilled items.■ White Liver Rich and creamy in texture, it had no unpleasant odor. The mellow richness and umami spread in my mouth.■ Shiitake Mushroom Very juicy, bursting with flavor the moment I bit into it. I also enjoyed the unique aroma of grilled shiitake.■ Grilled Bell Pepper This grilled bell pepper was sweet rather than bitter. Inside, there was a broth-like soup that released umami when bitten into.■ Tongue The crispy texture was pleasant, making a strong impression.■ Chōchin When eaten in one bite, the rich yolk and meat flavors melded together, reminiscent of a rich sukiyaki taste.■ Salt Tsukune This juicy tsukune was well-seasoned with salt, and the crunchy texture of the cartilage added a nice accent.■ Curry Fried Rice and Chicken Soup To finish, I chose the curry fried rice, available in 100g, 150g, or 200g portions. It contained chicken and had a solid spiciness, making it quite satisfying. The chef was humble and greeted us with a smile, which left a great impression. Despite being a long-established restaurant, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.I was satisfied not only with the yakitori but also with the seasonal side dishes and the finale. It's easy to see why this place has been loved for so long in Yokohama. It was a great meal!
