In the past, the wall-mounted vases were adorned with seasonal flowers and plants, but this time, I encountered a hanging scroll for the first time. At first glance, the font seemed simple enough for anyone to replicate, but realizing the depth of artistry behind it made me think it’s not as easy as it looks. This is Kamakura Kitajima in May.I visited last May as well, but the dishes felt almost entirely new to me. While there were some similarities due to the seasonal menu, I am always amazed by the endless variety of flavors. On this day, it seemed that a legend from the Japanese culinary world was dining nearby, and I had the pleasure of hearing various stories about the history of Japanese cuisine, which made the experience even more enjoyable.Everything about the food and atmosphere was impeccable. Just looking back at the photos makes my mouth water. Normally, I would give a perfect score, but I’m holding back a bit this time, hoping for an experience that exceeds my expectations on my next visit.
