Just a 1-minute walk from Sangu Bashi Station, I was surprised to find this hidden gem located in a residential building. Upon entering through the noren curtain, I was greeted by a serene and elegant space with only six counter seats. The highlight here is the eel course, where live eels are skillfully prepared right in front of you, skewered, and grilled over charcoal using the traditional "Jiyaki" method, which kept me captivated throughout the meal. The meal continued with a variety of dishes that showcased eel in unexpected ways, including spring rolls, sashimi, and inro-yaki. The final dish, unaju (eel over rice), was a delightful experience with its crispy skin and tender meat. The atmosphere allowed for engaging conversations with the owner, making it the perfect place for a special evening.
