On Saturday night, I could only make a reservation for a late time, so I decided to have French cuisine for lunch.I booked a lunch special course at LATURE, one of the top 100 French restaurants in Tokyo for 2025, located in the Shibuya area. The LATURE PLUS lunch special course is JPY 8,800 and includes six dishes with a fish main course added to the regular menu. It’s quite reasonable for lunch.I was seated in the annex, which looked like a bakery. The tables are the main focus, and even during the day, the lighting isn’t too bright. The wine glasses range from JPY 2,000 to JPY 3,000, which I found a bit confusing, so I opted for a pairing. The sparkling wine seemed to be from Fukushima, with sediment settling at the bottom. It was primarily made from Steuben and Chardonnay. There was no menu, but the specialty was a macaron made with venison blood. It certainly had a unique flavor and a rich umami taste.Next was a peach gazpacho. It seemed to use fruit tomatoes, and the peach flavor was subtle, with a tanginess that reminded me more of watermelon.I spread plenty of butter on the bread. Then came a white wine from Yamanashi, from 7C Winery. There are still many wineries I don’t know about. The mackerel tartare was served with sauces and fruits, with smoke gently wafting up. The cold toppings, created with liquid nitrogen, included cucumber, a classic that evokes summer. The Japanese rosé was paired with a pâté made from venison, bear, and boar. Mmm, this is delicious. As we approached the main course, it was time for a photo.I had a glass of French Chardonnay. Indeed, this is the one glass of French wine I enjoy. The ayu pie from earlier featured four layers of ayu, leaving a bit of the liver to savor its natural flavor. For the main course, I had red wine from Italy, Terra No.To finish, we had Ezo venison, accompanied by sweet and delicious potatoes.Dessert was included... The water dumpling was surrounded by nuts and pistachio ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce, resembling a black syrup water dumpling.I was full, so I enjoyed some espresso with sweets. It was a luxurious lunch.
