September 2026【L'ecrin】* Tabelog Bronze Award winner for 8 years from 2018 to 2026* Tabelog Top 100 Restaurants Award in 2021, 2023, and 2025* Michelin One Star in 2024 and 2025Established in 1974, L'ecrin is a renowned French restaurant representing Ginza! The current chef, Shuto Sugita, is the 9th generation, continuing to evolve while preserving tradition, offering exquisite grand maison cuisine. This time, I enjoyed the following course:* 【DINNER】 Shinsou (Main: Pigeon Pie) JPY 33,000- Freshness -Tokyo White Mold with Olive Oil from Shodoshima- Aroma of Butter -Duck Liver Pâté with Brioche- Culinary Bliss -Sweet Shrimp with Meyer Lemon- Summer Memories -Corn Soup- Childlike Wonder -Parklet Country Bread- Aftertaste -Kinki Amela Tomato with Year-Old Make-in Potatoes- Roots -Scallops with Rishiri Kombu and Truffle from Okui Kaiseido- Reminiscence -Oysters with Finger Lime Caviar- Respect and Gratitude -Pigeon PieMenu Réaliser"Creation"Amuse-BouchePear and GrapeMainFondant PersimmonRémanenceChocolate SouffléThis was the course content. The meal was structured in two parts, with the first menu (upper section) handed out upon seating, and the dessert menu (lower section) presented after the meal, emphasizing the importance of dessert rather than just a post-meal treat.Every dish was truly exceptional, making it difficult to choose just one to highlight! What surprised me was receiving a cancellation email from Tabelog just one hour before my reservation on the day itself, which caused me to panic and call. They confirmed my reservation but only offered a brief apology over the phone. It was a great restaurant overall, but that was a bit disappointing. It was a great meal.
