I visited Gokayama after sightseeing in Kanazawa, staying at a nearby inn and driving there with a rental car. Even the closest accommodation takes over 20 minutes to reach. It felt quite far. I actually wanted to book the inn as well, but online reservations opened three months in advance, and by the time I tried to book at midnight, it was already fully booked (apparently, there are regulars who reserve in advance). I secured a designated driver who was non-alcoholic, and we visited as a family of four. For detailed menu descriptions, please refer to other reviews. I focused more on enjoying the experience with all my senses rather than detailed food reporting. The pairing of bear, jidori chicken, and kiji-hata with wine and Japanese sake was exceptional. I look forward to visiting again with a good appetite!
