It’s been a month since my last visit to Sushi Nishizaki, but this time I enjoyed a private room for the first time in 11 months. Once again, I savored the wonderful sushi of early summer. The first half of the meal featured exquisite seasonal dishes. The young sweetfish with sansho pepper was delightful, and the combination of rock mozuku seaweed with junsai was particularly enjoyable—what a treat to have junsai at this time of year! The sashimi of Tokishirazu sea bream was incredibly rich and delicious. The classic, rich ankimo (monkfish liver) and grilled eel were consistently high quality and did not disappoint. The second half began with nigiri, starting with kelp-marinated Kasugo sea bream. The next dish, a slightly unusual vinegar-marinated sweetfish, was exceptionally tasty with just the right amount of seasoning. The squid, mehikaru, red tuna, and striped jack were all reliably delicious. The bonito, paired with chopped onions, added a nice touch. The flow from medium fatty tuna, small horse mackerel, sweet shrimp, Hamanaka sea urchin, to the melt-in-your-mouth anago (conger eel) was simply outstanding. The meal concluded pleasantly with tamago (egg) and a comforting soup.Having been a regular since the opening, I truly appreciate the meticulous preparation of each dish and the thoughtful composition of the omakase menu. Even though I visited just a month ago, half of the offerings were different from my last visit, aside from the classics, which is remarkable.Once again, I left completely satisfied. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!【Record of the Day】<Appetizers>Young sweetfish with sansho pepper Rock mozuku seaweed with junsai Tokishirazu, Matsukawa flounder, octopus sashimi Black clam Seaweed chawanmushi (savory egg custard) Seared Ebo sea bream Ankimo Grilled eel (white simmered) <Nigiri>Kelp-marinated Kasugo sea bream Vinegar-marinated sweetfish Squid Mehikaru Red tuna Striped jack Bonito (with chopped onions) Medium fatty tuna Small horse mackerel Sweet shrimp Sea urchin (Hamanaka) Anago Tamago Soup
