【Nagoya Expedition】 Tabelog Silver 4.41 (at the time of visit) Visited with three delightful food companions. After receiving a request from my close foodie friend, we were eager to try more Sichuan dishes! On the reservation release day, we called non-stop. After 221 attempts, we finally got through and secured a platinum ticket! Yay! It was my partner who made the call, not me (laughs), so I’m grateful. To conclude, The dishes are made with high-quality ingredients and are easy to enjoy. Overall, the spices have a mild aroma. This may be a matter of personal preference. What stood out to me that day was the Peking Duck. It is served rolled up. The taste and texture are perfectly balanced. Although it comes at an additional cost, it is a must-try dish. Additionally, Kyoto-produced Hamazume Small Potatoes, Kagoshima-produced Black Wagyu Chateaubriand, Kujo Green Onions, and a sauce of spices and garlic. This dish was said to feature the small potatoes as the star, but the Chateaubriand, with its well-blended spices, was overwhelmingly delicious. ~Shin Zen Bi Course~ (JPY 36,300) ◆ Candied Pecans ◆ Botan Shrimp, Dalian Jellyfish, Nemuro-produced Purple Sea Urchin, Green Onions, Sauce of Doubanjiang and Soy Sauce ◆ Niigata Prefecture Saito Farm Green Round (Green Ginkgo) Spring Rolls, Marinated Kaluga Caviar in Sesame Oil ◆ Gunma Prefecture Premium Kato Pork Chuck Eye Roll Char Siu, Stir-fried Green Beans with Chili, Sichuan Pepper, and Bean Sprouts, Mustard ◆ Shinshu-produced Matsutake Mushroom and Outer Boso-produced Black Abalone Soup ◆ Ise Lobster Stir-fried with Shrimp Miso, Asparagus, Makomo, Garlic Leaves, Garlic, and Chaozhou Chili Oil ◆ Romanian Fresh Porcini Mushroom and Shark Fin Stew (with Al Dente Risotto) ◆ Peking Duck (JPY 1,936 extra) ◆ Kyoto-produced Hamazume Small Potatoes, Kagoshima-produced Black Wagyu Chateaubriand, Kujo Green Onions, Sauce of Spices and Garlic ◆ Nagasaki Goto-produced Akahata Fried in Mochiko, Kumamoto-produced Eggplant, Yellow Chives, Fine Green Onions, Doubanjiang, Sichuan Pepper, Vinegar, and Superior Broth Sauce ◆ Lettuce Fried Rice ◆ Douhua Beef (Tofu, Beef, Shrimp, Scallops, Oil Stew) ◆ Mikawa-produced Nishiki Soudori Chicken Thigh and Breast Noodle Soup ◆ Keemun Black Tea ◆ Shizuoka-produced Crown Melon ◆ Almond Tofu with Pistachios made from two types of Apricot Kernels ◇ Draft Beer Masters Dream JPY 1,210 ◇ Pu-erh Tea (POT) x2 JPY 3,330 Total around JPY 42,000 (tax included) Considering the quality of the ingredients and the number of staff, this is a reasonable price, or perhaps even a bit generous. That said, it’s not a price that an average person like me can afford to visit monthly (laughs). The restaurant's interior is also sophisticated, and the attentive service from the handsome and beautiful staff is commendable. It’s no surprise that there are many regulars, making reservations quite difficult.
