This restaurant truly embodies the classic French cuisine reminiscent of the bubble era and early Tokyo. The wine is surprisingly affordable, and the quality of the cheese cart is impressive. However, the outdated flavors lack sophistication, and there aren't any dishes that can be called exceptional. I think one visit is enough to be satisfied. The corn mousse with shrimp broth jelly was the standout dish of the day, featuring a clear flavor profile that beautifully combined the sweetness of the vegetables with the essence of seafood. The appetizer was a foie gras mousse. The slight gamey taste is likely intentional. While it has a smooth texture that feels great on the palate, the accompanying bread is so fluffy, like chiffon cake, that it makes the overall texture a bit dull. The specialty, turtle consomme, is a rare dish that has been carefully simmered for several days. While it’s a unique experience, it feels more like consuming rarity rather than enjoying a delicious meal. The lobster lacked sufficient umami. The most disappointing part was the saffron risotto. It seems they intentionally kept the flavor light to highlight the lobster, but it ended up being too bland. When it comes to lobster, I can't help but compare it to nearby Le Saison. The main dish of lamb was simply delicious, with a sweetness from the fat that came through nicely. The dessert cart is exciting, but the flavors are rich and sweet, making them feel a bit overwhelming. This too reflects the old-fashioned taste. While the service is solid, I found myself questioning the reason to specifically come here, given the overall taste and experience.
