I visited Eragon, a yakitori restaurant in Ashiya. It seems quite difficult to get a reservation, but I managed to secure one, so I headed out to Ashiya. The course is priced at JPY 8,800, which is for the yakitori course. Before enjoying that, you can order appetizers a la carte, which adds a fun twist.I definitely wanted to try the limited low-temperature cooked white liver. It had a firmer texture than I expected, but the flavor was exceptional.I also ordered the kombu-marinated chicken breast, wasabi-grilled thigh, chicken and avocado tartare, chicken with cucumber in kanzuri sauce, and a wild watercress green salad.Everything was delicious, and I appreciated the small portions served. The drinks were also delightful and complemented the meal well. The yakitori was outstanding, and I liked that there were palate cleansers in between. However, it would be nice to have some grated daikon available at all times for a refreshing touch. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were impressively grilled with great care. You can choose various toppings for the tsukune, and since there were two of us, we opted for wasabi and truffle egg. The wasabi was a simple yet great choice, but I couldn't resist the truffle egg as well (laughs). After enjoying additional skewers, we had our final dish. Since it was hot, I chose the chilled sudachi noodles. They were tasty, but I slightly regretted not ordering the chicken paitan ramen, which was served earlier and was absolutely exquisite.I made a reservation for my next visit just to enjoy more (laughs). We drank and dined for about JPY 30,000 for two people. I was surprised at how reasonable it was, especially considering how many appetizers we had.The service was bright and attentive, making it a wonderful restaurant.
