We decided to take a relaxing two-day family trip to Gero Onsen. Although it’s known as a famous hot spring, it’s also conveniently close to Aichi Prefecture. Initially, we thought we could wait until we were older to visit, but due to strong requests from my family—especially since we would have to leave our dog at a pet hotel—we made the decision to go. As long as we can relax, that’s what matters. On the second day, we headed to Belle Equipe in Mizunami, a place I had wanted to visit for a while. I was eager to try their grilled lamb chop. Although I had to give up on the more expensive blue lobster, I chose a course that included regular lobster. From the very first dish, the bacon and egg brulee, I was in for a series of surprises. The flavors were unlike anything I had ever experienced before; they were not what I had imagined at all. The pan-seared grass-fed beef melted in my mouth. The salad had an unexpectedly warm dressing, which was delightful. The pan-seared lobster was cooked to perfection, and the grilled lamb, which they mentioned was cooked with the core removed, had a level of doneness I had never tasted before. It was truly impressive. The freshness and deliciousness of each dish were remarkable. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend it!
