I visited during the Gion Festival, and the U-shaped counter was fully occupied. I was the only solo customer, but I felt well taken care of and comfortable. I was able to watch the grilling process closely, and I was impressed by the meticulous and careful way the food was prepared. I truly enjoyed the experience visually as well. I ended up drinking quite a bit, but this place truly lives up to its reputation as a renowned establishment.
