2026.7.9 (Tue) First Visit 【Day 1 of Summer Trip to Shikoku】 I drove from Nagoya to Shikoku! On this trip (to Kagawa Prefecture), I will enjoy visiting various udon shops.After an early start, the first place I headed to was "Suzaki Shokuryohin Ten" located in Takase Town, Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture.This is a renowned udon shop said to serve the best udon in the world."Suzaki Shokuryohin Ten" in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, is an extremely popular shop known to all udon lovers! Some even rate it as "the best udon shop in the world."Following the navigation, I arrived at 10 AM on a weekday, but there was already a line forming. There is a parking lot right in front of the shop.Although it’s an udon shop, it has the appearance and atmosphere of an old-fashioned Showa-era supermarket, just as its name suggests.This famous shop attracts not only tourists like us but also locals.I joined the end of the line and entered the shop in about 5 minutes. A female staff member explained that the line splits between hot and cold udon, and I joined the line for cold udon. My family went to the line for hot udon, splitting into two groups.⚫︎ Udon Small x2 ⚫︎ Chikuwa Tempura ⚫︎ Croquette ⚫︎ EggSuzaki Shokuryohin Ten operates on a self-service basis: 1. Order the number of bowls 2. Add tempura or egg as toppings as desiredIt’s fun to customize your own dish! After settling the bill, we took our bowls across the street to enjoy in the building on the other side.The noodles have a firm texture and a wonderfully chewy bite. With each bite, the flavor of the wheat expands.The noodles themselves have a good amount of saltiness, so just a little soy sauce is enough to satisfy.It’s a simple dish, yet the quality is outstanding. This is what Sanuki udon is all about! It was incredibly delicious.No wonder it’s on the list of top 100 restaurants. It was a great meal!
