I had the pleasure of experiencing an exquisite lunch at a renowned tempura restaurant in Ginza. This establishment has maintained its two-star rating in the Michelin Guide Tokyo since its inception, which is quite impressive. Moreover, the head chef himself was awarded the title of "Modern Master Craftsman" in 2019 and received the Michelin "Mentor Chef Award" in 2023, making him a true legend in the world of tempura.According to a YouTube video I watched, he still personally goes out to source ingredients, showcasing his passion for tempura. On this occasion, I was fortunate enough to have the chef prepare the tempura himself.Seated at the U-shaped counter, I enjoyed delicious tempura while watching the chef's masterful techniques. It was a moment of pure bliss. The atmosphere of the restaurant was such that the chef quietly focused on frying tempura, yet there was no sense of tension or pressure; it felt very comfortable. The service from the staff was also exceptional, with attention to detail evident throughout. The ambiance was truly pleasant, allowing me to enjoy the tempura with peace of mind.Additionally, it seems there is a counter for the chef right at the entrance and another one for his son at the back of the restaurant. On the day I visited, most of the clientele were Japanese, but there were also some international guests. This is tempura that Japan can proudly present to the world.【About Tempura】A pioneer in incorporating vegetables into Edomae-style tempura. The vegetables were incredibly delicious. I found myself thinking, "Wow! Were vegetables this tasty?" All I could say was how delicious it was. There were two types of lunch courses available. Even though prices increased in July, I was impressed by the value.◼️ Tsubaki: JPY 16,500● 2 Shrimp Heads● 2 Shrimp● Asparagus● Bell Pepper● Kisu (Japanese whiting)● Lotus Root● Okra● Scallop● Pearl Onion● Anago (conger eel)● Tempura Rice● Dessert: Peach【Add-ons】● Sweet PotatoA specialty of the restaurant.
