Debuting in late 2019 before the pandemic forced a temporary closure, @cloverhillbk has since reopened with a revamped concept and a new kitchen team led by @chuckgood. Executive Chef Charlie Mitchell is a fine-dining veteran of the NYC restaurant scene who has also cooked in Washington, DC. I first met him in the national capital region during his stint at Jรดnt, a tasting-menu establishment that now proudly holds two Michelin stars for the second consecutive year ๐Ÿ‘

Clover Hill serves New American cuisine with a seasonal focus on the freshest vegetables and seafood available. The elevated cooking strikes a nice balance between applying refined techniques when necessary and at other times, letting the superb ingredients shine of their own accord. Chef Charlie seasons and flavors his food with a careful hand and with remarkable consistency. I was pleased by the entire meal ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜‹

The prix-fixe dinner featuring seven courses is fitting for an elegant and affordable evening out or an occasion for a weekend celebration. An ร  la carte menu with budget-friendly options at the bar also means so you can drop in on a weekday at this neighborhood spot ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Service is friendly and attentive, courtesy of a staff with polished mannerisms more indicative of a restaurant opened for years rather than months. They will happily take good care of you. One last note. If a paper menu is provided at the end of your visit, be sure to scan the top. Mine came with a lovely bit of poetry from restaurant partner & musician @claycastt. It read:

โ€œMy hands were deep in the sand,
I was surrounded by laughter, once again,
My skin was toasted by the sun,
My lips were salty from the sea, and color is all I could see.โ€

Clover Hill, I see you very well ๐Ÿค—
