We ate, drank, sang and danced together, celebrating this precious occasion which we could gather and enjoy food, music, culture as a group, something that was taken for granted but now it is so rare, not to mention it was cancelled last year, all due to Covid. We ate, drank, sang and danced together, celebrating this precious occasion which we could gather and enjoy food, music, culture as a group, something that was taken for granted but now it is so rare, not to mention it was cancelled last year, all due to Covid. I think we were so blessed to be able to do this and even more blessed to have received the matrix from chef @satadika of @midunu in Ghana. It would be good food no matter it is from Italy, France, Japan etc. But coming from Chef Atadika we got to learn about a part of the world as well as a part of Hong Kong (ie @africacenterhk ) that we did not know much about before.

During the preparation the chefs exchanged creativity and knowledge, developed comradeship. Chef Atadika’s goal is to bring New African approach to her cuisine by incorporating her own global experience into authentic African culinary experience. The chefs in HK did that as well in a similar way, combining their own own culinary backgrounds and flavors into the matrix they received, creating something very original and never tasted before.

For those of us who dined at the event, we developed friendship and a sense of connection - connection to new culture and cuisine and connection to people. The end of this event is just the beginning of another journey, at least for me it will be where I start to learn more about African cuisine and culture locally and globally
