Recommended bowl: Cafe ramen

This cafe serves up a varied menu of food and drinks, as well as ramen. Run by master Ogata-san, who has previously produced a Hokkaido themed restaurant in New York. The cafe is located on the second floor of the Oshidomari Ferry Terminal, making for nice views of the ferries pulling in and out as you slurp your noodles. The soup is a creamy tonkotsu, made at an offsite central kitchen that Ogata-san uses. There are two recommended bowls, a spicy miso and the Saba Dashi (miso) made with strong fish flavors. Noodles are made with 100% Hokkaido wheat by Ichijō Seimen, based in Shizunai, southern Hokkaido. Open since 2014.
