Obscenely technical, beautifully plated dishes at a restaurant that is a decent distance from Tokyo. Takes about an hour to get to Sakura in Chiba, to this escape from reality. A cozy auberge-like house with bird nests, insects and the like roaming around which offers what I can only describe as innovative Italian/French. Some dishes were quite extraordinary, like the 'escargot' amuse bouche. Service is great and its definitely worth the trek out.
