- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Dinner at Les Deux at Les Deux
Uneven dinner at Les Deux. Some dishes were simply great in the quiet, efficient style of Mr Rappenglück. Some over salty and unbalanced.
This is somewhat disappointing as I had some very good meals there.

Classical cuisine executed at the highest level in a wonderful dining room next to the river Rhine.
Peter Knogl has elevated the play of texture and acidity to the next level.
The turbot dish was the high light of the day and cannot possibly improved. This is as good as it gets.

The wine from Anne-Claire Schott was very interesting. A 29 year winemaker creating a Cuve out of 6 grapes from Switzerland, some of them I have never heard of. Less

Located in a Town House surrounded by a very beautiful garden which makes lunch especially nice, Klaus Erfort cooks French classical cuisine with Asian influences.
The menu starts with a firework of small dishes but once he gets in the main part of the menu, things get serious.

The combination of ingredients, flavour and technique is almost flawless. The cod was simply perfect, glassy middle and you could just push down the flakes.
Highly recommended. Less

Technically a new 3-star restaurant as unfortunately in 2017 the famous Chef Helmut Thieltges died suddenly and Chef Rambichl took over.
Now he is at 29 years the youngest 3-star Chef in Germany and certainly one of the youngest in the world.
His cuisine is a direct continuation of the classical style of Mr. Thieltges with some small changes. This is because he totally supports the style of his mentor and not because he wanted to copy it. However in the future there will be more gradual changes coming. His theme is evolution not revolution.
This meal was accented by the sweetbread course which was tender, but with the right texture, served at the right temperature. The other outstanding course was the Suprême of Etouffé pigeon. Less

Fantastic dinner during the OAD week in London.
The "New to the List" was by far the best dinner of the series with young Chefs displaying extraordinary skills and dishes with some surprising and delightful flavour combinations.
For example the Cappuccino of North Sea shrimp with coffee of Willem Hiele which was conceived standing in the kitchen and drinking coffee while cooking a shrimp soup. Who would have thought that coffee and shrimps go together, but there we are.
Kudos to Steve Plotnicki who put together such a wonderful group of Chefs. Less

Nieves Barragán Mohacho, the young Chef from Galicia elevates Spanish food in London to a new level.
Her suckling pig can easily stand up to any great asador in Galicia or the Basque country.
Her tortilla with the runny core is just to die for.
The desserts, especially the Cuajada is amazing.

Calum Franklin tries to elevate the British fare of pies. And he does this very successfully.

We went there for Sunday lunch and had besides the tuna belly, 2 versions of prawn, the beef and the suckling pig with the offal rice. The latter being besides the ice cream dessert the high light of the meal. The crust was perfect while the meat was still moist.
Overall I found this place much better than all the bad review Mr. Carreira has been collecting. Less

I am/was a great fan of Claude Bossi in his old place, Hibiscus. I also always liked to go to Bibendum. So I concluded when I heard that Mr. Bossi is moving to Bibendum, what a great combination.

However, this meal felt way short from my expectations. The dishes were unbalanced and badly calibrated. One dish was too sour (for me the acidity junky) and unappealing.
I do hope that this was a one off, as I really want Mr. Bossi to succeed in his new home. Less

- Gerhard Huber added a new meal Dinner at A. Wong at A. Wong with Lou Stejskal and Jason Wang
Very disappointing dinner at A. Wong. After all the hype I was expecting much more than what we got.
Probably need to go back for another try.
